Dwelling in the Word
Morando en la Palabra

These devotionals are based on the practice of lectio divina, or reading Scripture slowly, meditatively, and in prayer. Over the years we have established a robust index of resources, in English and Spanish. They can be used by individuals, families, and small groups to engage with God’s Word.

Lectionaries

Lectionaries are schedules of Scripture readings by season, week, and even day. They ensure that the fullness of the Bible is read over the course of the cycle, and can be helpful resources for choosing which Dwelling in the Word to choose!

What is a lectionary?

An ordered system for reading the Holy Scriptures at the eucharist and the Daily Offices. The BCP contains two lectionaries: The eucharistic lectionary (BCP, pp. 887-931), and the Daily Office lectionary (BCP, pp. 933-1001).

The Lectionary Page

This online calendar links the readings for upcoming months, and also has links to Lesser Feasts and Fasts (saints’ observations) and a link to access the lectionary for the full year.

The Reverse Lectionary

A lectionary tells us what lessons are to be read on a given date. But sometimes we have the inverted question, "When will this lesson be read?" The reverse lectionary is a way to find the answer to that question.
