Festival Details
Welcome & Registration begins at 9:30 am. Each participant (youth and adults alike) may participate in two workshops. Lunch and an event t-shirt will be provided. The festival concludes with an afternoon worship service with Bishop French. The cost is $35 per participant.
Workshops (choose during registration)
You’re An Acolyte—Now What?
Offered each year, this basic course in processions, procedures, and teamwork, is highly recommended for younger acolytes and beginners of all ages.
Making a Joyful Noise
For young people and adults who like to sing, this workshop will offer an opportunity to learn a piece of choral music that will be sung during the closing Eucharist. No experience is necessary, but, this workshop is not recommended for the very young who might have difficulty reading the words.
Artistic Flairs
This hands-on workshop gives participants a chance to explore the creative world of liturgical crafts. Recommended for acolytes of all ages.
Games & Practical Tips for Team Building
One of our great annual offerings, this workshop features lots of teambuilding games that will help your acolytes develop skills they need to work together effectively. Recommended for acolytes of all ages.
Adult Roundtable Discussion
Designed for acolyte masters, clergy, and other adults involved with acolytes, this workshop will provide an excellent forum for sharing ideas with other involved adults from across the diocese and discussing many aspects of ministry with diocesan leadership.
Dwelling in the Light Meditation
Participants in this interactive workshop will have the opportunity to focus on the light of Christ and enjoy some quiet, spirit-filled time as they learn about and experience meditational prayer techniques. Recommended for older acolytes & adults.
Light in the Darkness Scavenger Hunt
This scavenger hunt provides acolytes of all ages with a chance to learn about the wonders of our Cathedral and search for amazing moments of illumination hidden in the art and architecture of the building. This workshop is recommended for adults and acolytes of all ages.
Vessels & Vestments
Do you know which came first, the paten or the pall? What would you do if your lavabo bowl falls into your ciborium? Come to this workshop that will teach the ABC’s of proper liturgical terminology. Highly recommended for intermediate acolytes through adults.
